Hillary Rolfes, a native of the Houston area, has acquired a diverse breadth of knowledge and work experience. She studied French and History at Villanova University, from which she received a Bachelor of Arts. She excelled in her courses of study and was admitted into Pi Delta Phi and Phi Alpha Theta, the honor societies for students of French and History respectively. Also while a student at Villanova, Hillary Rolfes enrolled in the study abroad program and enjoyed the opportunity to continue her study of the French language, history, and culture at the Collège International de Cannes in the fall of 2003. From there, Hillary Rolfes returned to Texas and began studying at the South Texas College of Law. During her course work, she worked as an Assistant to the Managing Editor of the South Texas Law Review, served as a student representative to the Board of Houston Young Lawyers Association, and was awarded two Phi Delta Phi Highest Grade awards. Phi Delta Phi is the oldest legal association in the country and counts some of the most distinguished legal practitioners among its membership. Rolfes graduated magna cum laude in 2008 and passed the bar for the state of Texas in 2009.Rolfes’ professional experience includes serving as a Briefing Attorney for a Justice of the Fourteenth Court of Appeals. In this role, Rolfes honed her skills preparing briefs on cases that came before the courts, and she was also heard oral arguments and presented case synopses before a panel of three appellate justices. Additionally, Hillary Rolfes was a Litigation Associate for the law firm of Steel Sturm, PLLC, in Houston. There she defended corporate clients against allegations of trade secret violations and in breach of contract disputes. She also served plaintiffs of class action suits filed under the Fair Labor Standards act.In her spare time, Rolfes enjoys staying physically fit. She is active with CrossFit, a fitness program designed to challenge an individual in a number of areas of strength and endurance training. In 2008, Hillary Rolfes ran the Houston marathon.
